The Many Means And Methods Of Cremation In North America
The Many Means And Methods Of Cremation In North America. After the death of our cherished ones, we often conduct interment service to pay our final respects to their recollections. It is undeniably a custom of humans to lay to rest their dead relatives with a proper ceremony, believing that this would be a factor to where they are going after life. Majorityof us still prefer the traditional one, where in we come together, have the funeral wake rite and bury the cadaver in a family plot in the graveyard. It is an occasion for the family and friend to remember the deceased one at the same time, offer support and comfort to one another
Funeral services are done to maintain the body of our loved ones well-kept and preserved in a manner that it would look decent for public seeing.
The manner in how they do it may go as follows:
- Washing the cadaver and dressed it decently. Bodies may or may not be embalmed, depending on some factors. They put some make-up on it so that it would look personable. Some does the wrapping, using white cloth, just like in Egypt.
- The body is either buried in a ground, put in a tomb or be cremated. If it will be buried, the casket is put in a vault and it will be lowered down and covered by earth. Entombment requires a tomb or mausoleum placed above the ground. While cremation is done by setting the body on fire and put in a particular container.
- The body will be displayed in public so that the family and friends can view it. The body lies in an either a metal or wooden chest for burial. The casket may be opened or closed, depending on the part of the grieving parties. Then they usually place it in funeral homes where the people can go and pay their last respect.
- A memorial service called funeral will be officiated by the clergy of their religion to where they belong.
Usually, code of ethics should also be observed in this rite to maintain its solemnity. The men wear suit and the women a dress. The color should be black, without any marks or stripes on it. If there’s no available, charcoal gray or dark navy blue could be a substitute. Distant relatives and acquaintances are called to attend the final rite. In many gatherings, a meal or luncheon followed after the burial service.
Funeral rites are done already by our ancestor long time ago. And it is still being practice up to now. The concentration that we are giving to our dead loved ones shows how much we value life, and even after life.
